File Insights
A local Python utility for viewing and editing file metadata in the browser — photo EXIF, audio tags, PDF properties, timestamps, and on-demand checksums.
Available from source01 / The project
Behind the work.
File Insights runs a Flask server on the user’s own machine and presents file metadata in a browser interface. It reads filesystem attributes, image EXIF, audio tags, PDF information, and Office document properties. Supported edits include renaming, timestamps, permissions, EXIF cleanup, audio tags, and PDF metadata. Format handlers are optional, browsing is confined to a selected root folder, and a CLI can inspect a file as JSON without opening the interface.
There is more inside a file.
Inspect a sample and remove its metadata.
